Hi ho hi ho it's back to work I go

Yesterday, my maternity leave ended. It was hard to leave my sweet baby boy at daycare. Of course, the boy pulled the same stunt that his sister did when she started. He was so interested in the other kids in the room that he could have cared less if I was there.

Work is work. I just need to get back into a routine. At least, I have these built in breaks for pumping.

Oprah's show was dead on

Today, Oprah had on mothers revealing what they really feel about motherhood. It really hits the nail on the head in the funniest way.

Swimming

The girl is almost done her first session of swim lessons at the Y. At first, she used to cling me for dear life. I really stared to wonder if it had been a good idea to sign her up. Thabkfully, she has started to get the hang of it. She genuinely looks forward to going the pool each week. It looks like it should be a good summer at the swim club.

Maternity leave is almost over

My maternity leave is almost over. I think it will be harder to go back this time. First, the has been such an easy baby. Second, I've gotten a lot done, but still have so much to do. Third, it's not really appealing to me to work in a cube. I guess I should be thankful I have a job in this economy.

We didn't see any other kids outside

This is a phrase Pappa says to me quite frequently these day. You see it's either below freezing or extremely windy or both. However, these wintery conditions don't stop my husband from taking the girl outside to play. She, of course, loves it. I gues it's the Scandanavian blood. Plus, I don't see many two year olds as bundled as the girl.

No longer an only child

After 32+ years, I lost my status as an only child. My mom got remarried yesterday to a wonderful man, who has four children. Granted, we're all fully grown and everybody can support themselves. Still, it will take a little getting used.
